Our daughter died suddenly on June 26, 2014. Her husband told police that she took pills and thought she had taken too many. He said he did CPR at home prior to calling the ambulance and, because of the length of time down and the long distance to the hospital, my daughter was pronounced dead a few hours after arriving at the hospital. The coroner's report indicated that our daughter did not have drugs in her system. the only medication she had in her at that time was her own prescription medication. The levels of her meds in her system we found to be at normal range, yet the coroner reported her death as a accidental overdose. There have been many indications through the careful study of police reports and hospital records that my daughter's husband may have been unthruthful about what happened the night Desiree died. I am unable to give details about what we learned, but we have a very good reason to believe that our daughter did not die accidentally. Police never investigated her death. We assume this is because her husband worked for the Juvenile Corrections center and was considered part of law enforcement. (One of their own, you know). Records indicated that they asked her husband to come in for an interview and he told them he was busy. The police let it go at they and never took his statement. Upon asking the detective assigned to her case for answers to his investigation, he told us that he was not investigating her death but would look into the questions we had. After weeks of begging the detective for answers, he told me I was just harassing him and he hung up on me. We then had a meeting with the district attorney and he told us he would never close the case but two days later, it was indeed closed. They refuse to answer my calls. I have the entire meeting on tape and the lies the detective told were far beyond ridiculous. The district attorney really didn't even bother to listen to my husband and myself, as he kept leaving the meeting. As the parents of Desiree, you can imaging that we are beyond devastated that our little girl is gone. However, we are more devastated that her children will never get to know their mother. She left behind a 5 year old autistic son and a 1 year old daughter. After her death, her husband had the house sold within a few weeks and he moved to Texas. He threw away all of our daughter's belongings and left nothing behind for his children to get to know their mother. Now we are left without our daughter and her children, as he told us we were no longer allowed in their lives. We lost everything. We need the help of the public and the media. We need everyone to sign our petition to have her case reopened. We also need you to donate money to help us hire a private investigator and an attorney. Please consider donating anything you can to help us get justice for Desiree. We believe we have evidence that supports our theory that she died by the hands of her husband.
